One of my new features is “10 on the 10th” where I make a list of ten things on a given topic. January is a bit unusual because the 10th happens to fall on a Sunday which is, as you know, “Spiritual Thought Sunday.” Thus our inaugural theme will have to do with ten spiritual things. My first thought was to do the 10 Commandments or ten spiritual thoughts, but that would have been too easy. My reason for doing the ten item feature is to list things that are specific to me – such as the ten things I most often order at restaurants, ten items always in my purse, or ten pet peeves, etc. So to kick off the year here's my first list.
TEN THINGS ABOUT MY RELIGION THAT MAKE ME HAPPY:
1) The plan of Salvation
2) Temples dotting the Earth
3) Patriarchal Blessings
4) Every member a missionary
5) Early morning Seminary
6) The Young Women’s Theme
7) The companionship of the Holy Ghost
8) Celestial marriage & eternal families
9) A living Prophet who receives modern revelation
10) Knowing that I’m a daughter of God
It’s hard to stop with just ten things because primary songs and hymns make me happy too. And how could I leave out the sacred scriptures and general conference? I’ll probably do a list of my ten favorites primary songs or scriptures or conference addresses on other “10 (Spiritual Thoughts) on the 10th”
